The Monsignor McClancy Crusaders will face off against the Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Monsignor McClancy's victory against Cardinal Spellman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Pilots 4-2. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly two runs.
Taylor Roth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Kaiya Sciacco was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Jazlene Rivera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mary Louis Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Terriers 7-1. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Mary Louis Academy also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Abby Roy gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits.
At the plate, Mary Louis Academy let Rachele Iovine and Ary Hernandez run wild. Iovine went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Hernandez went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That triple was Hernandez's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Valerio, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Monsignor McClancy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Mary Louis Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Monsignor McClancy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mary Louis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Monsignor McClancy skirted past Mary Louis Academy 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
