The Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers will square off against the Southeast Alamance Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartlett Yancey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
Bartlett Yancey is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They had to suffer through a 69-33 loss at the hands of Northwood. The game marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Kentrell Willis and Cam Fowler. Fowler had a great game and went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Meanwhile, Willis did his best for the losing side, putting up eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Southeast Alamance's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 65-51 bruising from Burlington Christian Academy.
Bartlett Yancey will need focus on slowing down Brandon Mcadoo, one of several Southeast Alamance players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Sims, who put up 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, Southeast Alamance smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.
Southeast Alamance's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Bartlett Yancey, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bartlett Yancey has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34 boards per game. However, it's not like Southeast Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
