The Byron Nelson Bobcat waltzed into their game Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Cameron Lomax scored 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Lomax scored a full 44.6% of Heritage's points, the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Bell jr, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Byron Nelson's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Byron Nelson will be home for the holidays to greet Keller at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
