Glenwood is a perfect 10-0 against Springfield Southeast since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Titans will welcome the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Glenwood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Springfield Southeast's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Glenwood hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Titans never let Granite City get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Dylan Huff made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Huff was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Dalton Nunes was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Murphy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Springfield Southeast fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Taylorville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Tornadoes since April 10, 2015.
Like Glenwood, Springfield Southeast also got a great game from a two-way player: T Herrington. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Herrington has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Springfield Southeast is 5-2 when Herrington posts two or more runs, but 2-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, E Murphy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI. A Dunphy also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Glenwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Springfield Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Springfield Southeast's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glenwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Springfield Southeast, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Glenwood's hitters?
Glenwood took their win against Springfield Southeast in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
