The Knightdale Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Enloe Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Knightdale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 450 points over their last seven games.
Even though Leesville Road scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Knightdale still came out on top. Knightdale narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Leesville Road 60-58. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Leesville Road is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Knightdale relied on the efforts of Ibukun Adewumi, who scored 12 points, and Isaiah Green, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Green is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Christian Sutton was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Enloe ended up a good deal behind Heritage on Saturday and lost 57-39. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Enloe in their matchups with Heritage: they've now lost nine in a row.
Knightdale's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Leesville Road's loss dropped theirs to 2-2.
Knightdale was dealt a bruising 75-25 defeat at the hands of Enloe in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Knightdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
