Bayshore and Palmetto are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Bayshore Bruins will get right back to it and host the Palmetto Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Bayshore was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-61 to Parrish Community. Bayshore has not had much luck with Parrish Community recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Demetrios Kimon, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keshawn Parhm, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Palmetto's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of IMG Academy White. While losing is never fun, Palmetto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while IMG Academy White is ranked 26th).
Bayshore's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Palmetto, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.
Bayshore lost to Palmetto at home by a decisive 61-47 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Bayshore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
