On Wednesday, Beekmantown came up short against Harrisville and fell 63-51. While losing is never fun, Beekmantown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Harrisville is ranked 97th).
Tanner Sullivan was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points for Harrisville. The game was Sullivan's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Sullivan, who scored ten points.
Beekmantown's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Harrisville, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beekmantown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Ogdensburg Free Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 29th. Ogdensburg Free Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Harrisville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Potsdam at 7:15 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
