Baseball Recap: Warhill Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Warhill had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruton Panthers on Friday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 26th.

Grayson Thompson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Theo Manna was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Evan Harney was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Warhill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bruton struck out ten times.

Warhill's record is now 4-9. As for Bruton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Warhill will face off against rival Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bruton is set to take on their familiar foe Smithfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
