After a string of three wins, The Nimitz Cougars''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 50-21 loss at the hands of Dekaney. Nimitz has struggled against Dekaney recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Dekaney found their leader in underclassman Samaritan Cunningham, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Markie Grant got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Dekaney, their victory was their third straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Nimitz will take on Willis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Nimitz likes a good challenge. As for Dekaney, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on November 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Oak Ridge is ranked 179th, while Dekaney is ranked 165th).
