The Buchholz Bobcats posted their biggest win since November 27, 2023 on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-28 victory over Santa Fe. Given Buchholz's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Santa Fe is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamison Cardwell was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. Tionna Wilkinson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Santa Fe lost, one person who can't be blamed is Natalie Chohan. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points.
Buchholz pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Santa Fe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Buchholz won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop Kenny at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Bishop Kenny has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Santa Fe, they will be playing at home against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
