Lowell proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Highland Trojans 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lowell got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-10.
Emily Aguilar paced Lowell's offense, picking up 16 kills. Aguilar got some help from Dafne Aguilar-Martinez and her 18 assists. Aubrey Fleming controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Lowell's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Highland, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
Lowell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Hobart on the 28th. As for Highland, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Merrillville on the 27th.
