After flying high against the Pennington Red Raiders last Wednesday, the Franklin Warriors came back down to earth. Franklin took a serious blow against Morris Catholic on Tuesday, falling 79-37. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Morris Catholic is ranked first).
Mia Pauldo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Morris Catholic, scoring 24 points along with six steals and five assists. Pauldo is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mya Pauldo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Franklin's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Morris Catholic, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will challenge Watchung Hills Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morris Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
