Silver Stage extended their losing streak to 15 on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-22. They came up short against the Pershing County Mustangs, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-4 loss on Saturday.
Silver Stage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blayne Baratti Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Pershing County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Pershing County, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Pershing County's side, Trenton Rhodes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Rhodes has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Pershing County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ayden Montes was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Taylor Montes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
As of now, neither Silver Stage nor Pershing County have any future games scheduled.
