The Weldon Valley Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the North Park Wildcats at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Weldon Valley is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Weldon Valley struggled with assists on Tuesday (Arickaree had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Weldon Valley took a serious blow against Arickaree, falling 55-13. Weldon Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-5.
Despite the defeat, Weldon Valley had strong showings from Ellie Koch, who scored two points along with eight rebounds, and Chloie Cuckow, who scored no points. That's the first time this season that Koch pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Park on the road against Dolores on Saturday as the team secured a 48-19 win. The victory was just what North Park needed coming off of a 81-15 defeat in their prior matchup.
Weldon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for North Park, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Weldon Valley was dealt a bruising 60-19 defeat at the hands of North Park when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Weldon Valley, Talynn Schmidt (who scored six points along with nine assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
