Basketball Recap: Alex Dumesle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Global Outreach Charter Academy over KIPP Bold City

Global Outreach Charter Academy was the 75-68 winner over KIPP Bold City when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks received a blow on Monday as they fell 72-56 to the KIPP Bold City Greyhounds. While losing is never fun, the Kodiaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 206th).

Several Kodiaks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Dumesle, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Dumesle a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jensie Lugo-Torres, who put up 16 points.

Leading KIPP Bold City to victory were Kayland Byirt and Ronald Stanley. Byirt went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Stanley had 13 points. Elijah Banks was another key player, putting up ten points.

Global Outreach Charter Academy dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for KIPP Bold City, their record is now 6-2.

Global Outreach Charter Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-33 loss against Fletcher on the 19th. As for KIPP Bold City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-60 win against Atlantic Coast on the 17th.
