The Osawatomie Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. The contest between them and Central Heights wasn't particularly close, with Osawatomie falling 50-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Osawatomie of the 56-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Osawatomie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jasper Sallee, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sallee pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kail Calderwood was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Osawatomie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Central Heights, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osawatomie will face off against Santa Fe Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Heights, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northern Heights at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Central Heights is facing Northern Heights at the right time seeing as Northern Heights is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
