After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cobleskill-Richmondville, Johnstown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Mekeel Christian Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sir Bills, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Johnstown's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Johnstown will be playing at home against Fonda-Fultonville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Valley Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Sir Bills' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Oppenheim-Ephratah at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
