The Overfelt Royals will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Willow Glen Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Overfelt's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Willow Glen's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Overfelt is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Christopher on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Royals came up short against the Cougars, falling 28-6. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Overfelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ralou Hunter and Christopher Hanley. Hanley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Willow Glen was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over Christopher. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Overfelt better keep an eye on Aiden Akery. He was instrumental in Willow Glen's win, rushing for 86 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 103 yards on 13 of 21 attempts. Zackary Papedis was in the mix too, providing the Rams with one touchdown.
Willow Glen didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Christopher to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Rams weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.9%.
Overfelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Willow Glen, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Overfelt has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 174.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Willow Glen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 169.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Overfelt came up short against Willow Glen in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 42-38. Thankfully for the Royals, Cedeno Chavez (who threw for 293 yards and four TDs while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushed for 60 yards and a pair of scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
