Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

While Evergreen Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 55-45 victory over the Loudoun County HomeSchool Patriots on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evergreen Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddie Wivell, who posted 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. Wivell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Jenkins, who scored 15 points.

Evergreen Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Loudoun County HomeSchool, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Evergreen Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christ Chapel Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Loudoun County HomeSchool will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Fairfax HomeSchool on January 4, 2025.
