It was a good run, but Montgomery unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 9-2 to the Brenham Cubs. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Karson Nelson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 15-9-2. As for Brenham, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9-1.

Montgomery will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Brenham, they will head out to square off against Cypress Woods at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cubs 3.5, the Wildcats 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
