After a string of five wins, the Westampton Tech Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 51-43 to Trenton Catholic Academy. If Westampton Tech was looking for revenge after losing 65-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Trenton Catholic Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniyah Spell, who scored 16 points. Mayah Alford was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Westampton Tech's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.
Westampton Tech won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Crusaders at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Trenton Catholic Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 11:00 a.m. on February 4th. Immaculate Conception presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in New Jersey (the Lions are ranked third, while the are ranked 45th).
