Softball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Academy at the Lakes can now relate to. They fell 11-8 to the Cambridge Christian Lancers on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Kiana Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Gabby Little also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Academy at the Lakes has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Cambridge Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Academy at the Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cambridge Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
