The Gulfport Admirals will be playing at home against the Biloxi Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gulfport is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Gulfport suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-38 loss at the hands of Harrison Central. While losing is never fun, Gulfport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Harrison Central is ranked 13th).
Meanwhile, Biloxi earned a 39-27 victory over St. Martin on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Biloxi.
Biloxi found their leader in underclassman Zaniya Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 23 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Merideth, who scored six points along with three steals.
Gulfport has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Biloxi, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.
Gulfport took a serious blow against Biloxi in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 50-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Biloxi's Aaliyah Davison, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals.
