Basketball Recap: Surafia Norries and Uzziah Grimes Secure Win for Rome Free Academy

Rome Free Academy put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 86-73 victory over the Christian Brothers Academy Brothers.

Rome Free Academy was led to victory by Uzziah Grimes and Surafia Norries. Grimes went 11 of 14 en route to 29 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Norries dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 assists. The contest was Grimes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordell Williams, who made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Rome Free Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Brothers Academy only racked up 14 assists.

Christian Brothers Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jj Osinski and Amare (Pop) Coffil. Osinski went 10 of 16 on his way to 26 points, while (Pop) Coffil went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Bowden, who posted nine points.

Rome Free Academy's record is now 3-0. As for Christian Brothers Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Rome Free Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 91-61 win against Camden on the 17th. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-41 victory against St. John the Baptist on the 21st.
