The Tamaqua Blue Raiders suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a rough 76-54 loss at the hands of Blue Mountain. Tamaqua has not had much luck with Blue Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Several Blue Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Ansbach, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Ansbach is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Connor Dillon was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Tamaqua struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tamaqua's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Blue Mountain, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Tamaqua will take on Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blue Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Lehighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Blue Mountain is ranked 109th).
