After flying high against the Litchfield Purple Panthers last Thursday, the Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles came back down to earth. Brownstown/St. Elmo took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dieterich on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brownstown/St. Elmo in their matchups with Dieterich: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Dieterich to victory were Kady Tegler and Miley Britton. Tegler scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Britton scored 22 points along with 6 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Britton has scored at least 25% of Dieterich's points.
Brownstown/St. Elmo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dieterich, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City the next time they take the court. Dieterich will head out to face Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brownstown/St. Elmo will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
