Ernie Powers Delivers Best Performance of Season
Franklin was led to victory by Ernie Powers, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Powers rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 138 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Franklin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Powers and Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Socorro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Quarles Came Up Big in Pebble Hills' 38-7 Victory
Zereian Quarles's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fifth-straight game with 127+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.
Quarles and Pebble Hills will take on Eastwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The last time Quarles took on the Troopers, he rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Eastlake Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Luke Lomeli
Luke Lomeli was instrumental in extending Eastlake's winning streak to three on Friday. Nobody could stop Lomeli as he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Lomeli must have Socorro's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Lomeli saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Dorian Jaramillo Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Dorian Jaramillo continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 17th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up 1.5 sacks, made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass.
Unfortunately for Montwood, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Jaramillo. Jaramillo made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss) the last time he and the Rams duked it out back in October of 2023.

Chris Garcia Makes It Two for Eastlake
The second Eastlake player making an appearance here is Chris Garcia, and for good reason. He picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 71 yards.
