Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Greenwood

Greenwood had won two straight games and Isaac O'Neal did his part to make it three on Saturday. The Greenwood Woodmen walked away with a 61-54 win over the Triton Central Tigers thanks in part to O'Neal, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Silas Blair, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Sego, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Triton Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Greenwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-60 defeat against Columbus East on the 28th. As for Triton Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-38 win against Yorktown on the 28th.
