Round Mountain has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Indian Springs Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Round Mountain will be strutting in after a win while the Thunderbirds will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Round Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over the Leopards, taking the game 60-52.
Nick Scraper had an outrageously good game as he scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Zamora, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-30, which was the final score in Indian Springs' tilt against the Eagles on Tuesday. Indian Springs was down 52-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Indian Springs saw an underclassman step up: Vance Dilger scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Round Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Indian Springs, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
Round Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Thunderbirds in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 40-34 win. Does Round Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunderbirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
