The Cooper Cougars and the Colleyville Heritage Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Cooper Cougars had to settle for second. Cooper had to suffer through a rough 55-21 loss at the hands of Colleyville Heritage. Cooper was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Bray, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Christian Rico, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Colleyville Heritage was led to victory by Braden Blueitt and Luke Ullrich. Blueitt picked up 146 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Ullrich threw for 286 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Colleyville Heritage, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colleyville Heritage is on the road again on Friday and play against Argyle at 6:00 p.m. on November 24th. Argyle is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
