Softball Recap: Ganado Wins Going Away Against Hopi

Ganado won the last time they faced Hopi and things went their way on Friday too. The Hornets blew past the Bruins 21-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Ganado got a massive performance out of Shelby Lee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Lee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierra Meyers, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ganado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That's a new trend for the Hornets: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 14.8.

Ganado's record is now 6-9. As for Hopi, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Ganado will welcome Page at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hopi, they will venture away from home to challenge Round Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
