The West Florence Knights will be playing at home against the Hartsville Red Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for West Florence and four for the Red Foxes.
Last Tuesday, West Florence was beaten by the Tigers 66-37. West Florence has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Hartsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 57-52 to the Chiefs. While losing is never fun, Hartsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Chiefs are ranked 46th).
Despite their loss, Hartsville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mccoy Harry, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harry has scored all season. Shahquan Pendergrass was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
West Florence has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Hartsville, they dropped their record down to 4-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
