Tri-Valley fell to Canton 38-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Flandreau and Sioux Falls Christian played the most contested game in Big East this week, with Flandreau eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory. Jace Christiansen ran for 79 yards in the win.
Layne Lucas put up the best numbers in passing as Sioux Valley bested Groton. He had a total of 5 completions for 92 yards. Lucas' favorite target this week was Cole Hauge, who caught 4 passes for 53 yards.
The Cossacks' 6-foot-0 quarterback Lucas is the league leader in passing yards this season with 168. The leading receiver in the league this season is Geno Taylor-burshiem. The Flandreau star has 5 catches for 123 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Mustangs and the Fliers. Tri-Valley enters the game ranked 24th in the state, while Flandreau ranks 25th.
McCook Central/Montrose made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,233 from 10,413. The improvement was largely due to a 28-0 victory over Elk Point-Jefferson last week.
