Pueblo South has gone 9-1 against Mesa Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Colts will face off against the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. Pueblo South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Pueblo South came out on top against Canon City by a score of 7-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Colts haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
MJ Molina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caeden Herrera, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Mesa Ridge and Palmer Ridge faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. The Grizzlies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
Gabriel Montijo made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Mesa Ridge's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Montijo was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Brandon Bittner and Zander Iwanski did most of the damage at the plate: Bittner scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Iwanski went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Mesa Ridge picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-7. As for Pueblo South, their record is now 10-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pueblo South has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Mesa Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pueblo South couldn't quite finish off Mesa Ridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
