The Cleveland Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 80-56 loss to Clayton might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Cleveland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Clayton is ranked 50th).
Despite the loss, Cleveland still got an impressive performance from Rodney Poston, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. James Harris was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Justice Mitchell was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds for Clayton. Mitchell hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Grimes, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Clayton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Willow Spring the next time they take the court. Cleveland will head out to face Willow Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Clayton will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
