The Anthem Prep Eagles suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 56-30 loss to Veritas Prep might stick with them for a while. Anthem Prep lost against Veritas Prep in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 68-10 score last time.
Anthem Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madi Hatfield, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Amanda Gandolfo who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Gandolfo is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Anthem Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Veritas Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Anthem Prep will be playing at home against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully North Phoenix Preparatory Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. As for Veritas Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Trivium Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trivium Prep is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
