Starr's Mill walked away with a 56-48 victory over Trinity Christian on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Starr's Mill also won the last time the pair played on January 6th.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabbie Grooms. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Bennett, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Starr's Mill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starr's Mill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McIntosh at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. McIntosh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Starr's Mill is ranked 122nd). As for Trinity Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against LaGrange at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. LaGrange is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
