Even though the Parkersburg Big Reds scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, the Huntington Highlanders still came out on top. Huntington took their contest against Parkersburg 79-66. That's another feather in the cap for Huntington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mikey Johnson was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avonte Crawford, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
The win got Huntington back to even at 1-1. As for Parkersburg, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington will be home for the holidays to greet Wheeling Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheeling Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Huntington in West Virginia (Wheeling Park is ranked seventh, while Huntington is ranked 48th). Parkersburg will be home for the holidays to greet Parkersburg South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
