This season hasn't been kind to the Mariner Marauders, who are still winless after their 16th game. They lost to Jackson at home by a decisive 89-70 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Mariner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 73rd).
Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Mcferran, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. Mcferran hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for eight straight games. Trey Hawkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Mariner dropped their record down to 0-15-1 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Jackson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Mariner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jackson also has no future games currently scheduled.
