Despite the loss, Hodgeman County still got an impressive performance from Owen Reece, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 53.4% of Hodgeman County's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hazen Rydquist was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Hodgeman County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Spearville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Hodgeman County will head out on the road to square off against South Gray at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Gray's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Spearville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bucklin at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th.
