Wakefield is 9-1 against Peabody-Burns since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Wakefield Bombers will be playing at home against the Peabody-Burns Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wakefield has three straight victories, Peabody-Burns has 29 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Wakefield's game was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 37-24 win over Solomon.
Wakefield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Rohr led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rohr has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Adams, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Peabody-Burns had to suffer through a rough 53-11 loss at the hands of Solomon.
Wakefield's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Peabody-Burns, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Wakefield came out on top in a nail-biter against Peabody-Burns in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 2-0. Does Wakefield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Peabody-Burns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
