The Wellington School Jaguars waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Miller 66-44. That looming 66-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wellington School yet this season.
Wellington School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Adams led the charge by scoring 24 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. Malcolm Wade was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Miller lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Dorsey, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Dorsey has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Doughty, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Wellington School pushed their record up to 6-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Miller, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington School will take on Tree of Life Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Miller, Miller and Bishop Rosecrans will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bishop Rosecrans knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Miller likes a good challenge.
