Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Fleming Colonels, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 42-3 loss at the hands of the Warriors on Friday. Fleming's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Matoaca can attribute much of their success to Montino Williams jr, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Fleming's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Matoaca, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Fleming does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Matoaca will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stone Bridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
