Kaukauna (Wis.) has closed to within 16 wins of high school softball's all-time national win streak record of 112 straight games by
Vandebilt Catholic (Houma, La.).
Kaukauna won 20 straight games to finish the 2021 season, went 31-0 in 2022 and 30-0 in 2023. After defeating
Hortonville 2-0 on Tuesday, the Galloping Ghosts have now won 96 in a row.
The total ranks tied for fourth on the all-time list with
Hillcrest (Simpsonville, S.C.), which won 96 in a row from 2002 to 2004.
Sherwood (Sandy Spring, Md.) is No. 3 with 105 wins in a row from 2012-17 while
Barbe (Lake Charles, La.) won 108 in a row from 1988-91. Vandebilt Catholic built its streak of 112 between 1980 and 1983.
MaxPreps has compiled a list of all current softball teams with at least 20 consecutive wins. The list includes three other teams with at least 40 wins in a row.
Coahoma (Texas) is No. 2 on the list with 51 in a row. The streak is believed to be the second-longest streak in Texas history behind the 76 straight between 2003 and 2004 by
Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City, Texas).
Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.) ranks third on the current list with 47 straight wins.
James Madison (Vienna) holds the Virginia state record with 71 in a row from 1987 to 1989.
Summerville (S.C.) has won 42 in a row, which is believed to rank third in state history behind Hillcrest with 96 and
Crescent (Iva) with 67 between 1991 and 1993.
The list below includes teams the play softball in the fall, spring and summer. Streaks are good as of April 29-30 based on scores reported to MaxPreps.
