The Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars won the last time they faced the North Central Knights, and things went their way on Monday too. Niobrara/Verdigre walked away with a 51-38 win over North Central.
It was another big night for Josilyn Miller, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Miller is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Delani Runnels, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
North Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Morgan Lewis, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Lewis, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Niobrara/Verdigre is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for North Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Niobrara/Verdigre won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Holt at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Niobrara/Verdigre is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for North Central, they and Colome will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Central is facing Colome at the right time seeing as Colome is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
