Florence is 0-3 against Seton Catholic since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Gophers will head out on the road to take on the Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. This will be Florence's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Florence saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell 8-3 to Ray.
Alyssa Ferrin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Hailey White also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Seton Catholic strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Phoenix Christian. The contest marked the Sentinels' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Brooke Zuluaga made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Hess, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Ariana Ruiz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Seton Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Phoenix Christian only posted a batting average of .111.
Seton Catholic's record is now 4-0. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Florence came up short against Seton Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 6-2. Can the Gophers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
