Wyoming East has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mercer Christian Academy Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wyoming East can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bluefield 60-32 on the road. Given Wyoming East's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Bluefield is ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyoming East relied on the efforts of Cadence Blackburn, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds, and Maddie Clark, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. Clark is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Cameron, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mercer Christian Academy slipped by Lewisburg Baptist Academy 1-0 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mercer Christian Academy.
Wyoming East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Mercer Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
