Western Branch is 10-0 against Great Bridge since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Western Branch Bruins will look to defend their home court against the Great Bridge Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Western Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 351 points over their last five games.
Even though Nansemond River scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Western Branch still came out on top. Western Branch walked away with a 71-59 win over Nansemond River.
Western Branch had a senior duo take command as Viktor Parson scored 18 points and Ellis Wright scored 17 points. Wright is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae'Marree Parker, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Great Bridge pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-61 to Deep Creek.
Western Branch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Great Bridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Western Branch was able to grind out a solid win over Great Bridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 70-61. Does Western Branch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Great Bridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
