LA PUENTE, Calif. - After trading leads three times,
La Puente (Calif.) snatched the lead for good when
Ruben Elias ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Workman (City of Industry, Calif.) 30-20.
The two teams were tied at 14 heading into halftime. The Warriors took the lead for good on a touchdown run by Elias in the third quarter.
With the win La Puente extended its winning streak to six games. LP defeated the Aztecs 28-7 last week.
The Warriors' standout player in the win was
Joseph Centeno. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Lobos'
Ryan Gomez played well. The senior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
La Puente also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 45-7.
