Even though the Aquinas Academy Crusaders have not done well against the Leechburg Blue Devils recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Aquinas Academy breezed by Leechburg on the road to the tune of 76-47. With Aquinas Academy ahead 60-24 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Leechburg's loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Floyd and Rocco Vigna. Floyd scored 20 points along with 3 steals, while Vigna scored 10 points along with 7 steals. Vigna is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Rollinger, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Aquinas Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Leechburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Aquinas Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Monessen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Leechburg won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Freeport at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
